Original art of The Snow Maiden by Pixel Pixie Cross Stitch now available as a cross stitch pattern. The beautiful Snow Maiden, or Snegurochka, is a haunting Russian fairytale with a sad ending. Floss specified is DMC with 3 Mill Hill seed beads.

There are many versions of The Snow Maiden fairytale, but in most of them, Snegurochka is a snow sculpture brought to life to be the daughter of a childless elderly couple. They live happily for the next couple of months, but as spring approaches she is destined to melt. Much happens with the villagers in the time that leads up to her death. Sometimes she is playing with friends and melts while jumping over a fire in a game, other times she ends up in a doomed romance, but always she dies before spring arrives.

The original design of The Snow Maiden was released in the Winter Magic Stitch Box by Starlight Stitchery in 2022. This is an updated version with more detail.
